Pop the hood of the 2026 Toyota Tacoma i-FORCE MAX, and you’ll find the reason this midsize truck stands in a league of its own. Every Tacoma i-FORCE MAX is outfitted with a 2.4-liter turbocharged hybrid engine. Most iterations churn out a commanding 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque; the Trailhunter falls just slightly below at 323 horsepower. Compared to gas-powered Tacomas, that’s a significant boost in both horsepower and torque – one that drivers will be able to feel immediately as they hit the gas pedal. Plus, that extra muscle helps deliver an impressive 2026 Toyota Tacoma i-FORCE MAX 0-60 time of just 7.2 seconds.4
Power is not the only part of what makes this midsize truck special. The 2026 Toyota Tacoma i-FORCE MAX MPG ratings make it a fuel-savvy buy, too. The Limited i-FORCE MAX achieves an EPA-estimated 23/24/23 MPG (City/Highway/Combined),3 while the remaining Tacoma i-FORCE MAX trims are close behind with an EPA score of 22/24/23 MPG (City/Highway/Combined).3
Potent, surprisingly quick off the line for its build, and remarkably efficient, the 2026 Toyota Tacoma i-FORCE MAX proves you don’t have to choose between performance and practicality.
Dimensions & Cargo
All 2026 Toyota Tacoma i-FORCE MAX trims come standard with a Double Cab and 5-foot bed and 18-inch wheels in varying styles. The Trailhunter is also available with a 6-foot bed for those who need extra room for gear. All iterations have some form of standard 4WD: 4WDemand part-time 4WD comes in most models, while the Limited i-FORCE MAX has full-time 4WD.
While the overall configurations are mostly consistent, the 2026 Toyota Tacoma i-FORCE MAX dimensions can vary slightly by trim. Here’s a closer look at the exterior numbers:
The 5-foot bed measures 60.3 inches long, 21.2 inches deep, and 53 inches wide.
The 6-foot bed keeps the same depth and width but stretches the length to 73.5 inches.
Most trims are 213 inches long, 77.9 inches wide, and 74.6 inches tall, with the TRD Off-Road i-FORCE MAX slightly taller at 75.3 inches.
Trailhunter and TRD Pro editions are larger still, coming in at 79.9 inches tall, 214.2 inches long, and 75.8 inches wide with the 5-foot bed; the Trailhunter with a 6-foot bed is 227.4 inches long and 75.5 inches wide with the same height.
A 131.9-inch wheelbase is standard across the lineup, though the Trialhunter with the available 6-foot bed rides on an extended 145.1-inch base.
Inside the Tacoma i-FORCE MAX, interior metrics can also change slightly depending on features:
Headroom measures 39.7 inches in the front and 38.4 inches in the rear on models without an available moonroof.
Models with the moonroof have 38 inches of head space in front while retaining 38.4 inches in the rear.
Front and rear legroom stay consistent across all trims, providing 41.8 inches to front-row occupants and 33.7 inches to those in the rear.
Towing & Payload
The 2026 Toyota Tacoma i-FORCE MAX specs continue to impress as we reach the towing and payload section of our tour. The Trialhunter mated with a 6-foot bed sees a minor decrease of just 10 pounds,1 but otherwise the 2026 Toyota Tacoma i-FORCE MAX towing capacity remains consistent throughout the lineup.
Payload capacity reaches up to 1,705 pounds2 with the TRD Off-Road i-FORCE MAX. Most other configurations offer a maximum payload rating over 1,600 pounds,2 providing plenty of capability to transport work tools and materials or overlanding equipment.

We found pretty much everything we needed on the Tacoma they had online, and they even had a significant discount, and military rebate. That was a great start, and worth driving 2 hours away to get what I wanted. The surprise was how easy Brad made the online transaction go, and then the detailed explanation of all the tech in the truck was much appreciated, as there is a lot!
1Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. “Added vehicle equipment” includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle’s exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo. (Calculated with the new SAE J2807 method.) Installation of a tow hitch receiver or other accessories located near the rear bumper or side-door kick sensors may require disabling or removing the kick sensor, and the sensor operation setting in your vehicle should be turned off. See Owner’s Manual for limitations.
2Max payload varies based on accessories and vehicle configuration.
